Task Three: Conventions of A Opening Scene- 21 JUMP STREET and GOONIES
What have I learnt?
I have learned that sound can be used effectively to set an atmosphere and also help the genre of the film. For example, 21 Jump Street uses several different sound effects to connote the comedic elements of the film. Furthermore, the protagonist needs to always be the centre of attention for the camera as it informs the audience of his status. I like how the credits do not overlap the action in 21 Jump Street, I may do this myself when I create my sequence as it makes it more engaging for the audience. Lastly, costume is essential as it conveys the characters age and even popularity in this example.
